All men and women, over the age of 21, no matter their race, color, religious creed, ancestry or sexual orientation are welcome to apply for membership.
To be accepted as a member, you must:
1. Be an American citizen
2. Believe in God
3. Be of Good Moral Character
4. Be at least 21 Years Old.
You must be sponsored by a member of the Cottage Grove Elks Lodge and reside in the jurisdiction of the Lodge you wish to join.
If you know a current Elks member contact them and have them take you by the Lodge to tour the quarters or come to an event to experience the fun.
If you don’t know a member come by the Lodge during regular hours and introduce yourself to the bar staff – let them know you are interested in joining.
Membership forms are available there and after spending some time meeting the other members in the lounge just fill out the form (with your sponsor and co-sponsors information), pay the nominal initiation fee and you are on your way to joining one of the most active community charity organizations in the area.
Your application will be read at a regular Lodge meeting. It will then be forwarded to the Investigating Committee, who will call you and set up a time for you meet with the committee for an interview.
After the interview is concluded, the committee will report to the Lodge concerning your membership. At the subsequent meeting a vote will take place.
When the vote is concluded, you will be notified and asked to present yourself for orientation. During orientation, you will learn more about the Order’s programs and charities and Initiation into our Lodge. Our Initiation for new members is held on the forth Thursday of every month.
